The Bay Regeneration Isle of Wight

Sandown Bay, Sandown, Shanklin and Lake, has more tourists than any other area on the Island. It has superb beaches and fantastic coastal walks, surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The Bay Regeneration project aims to create a modern beach resort to attract new visitors, residents and businesses.

New plans are being developed to use the beautiful natural environment of the area to create a modern holiday resort which will appeal to a wide audience throughout the year. It is also hoped to create new vibrant business communities, perhaps in the creative industries sector.

This project is in its early stages and businesses and residents are being consulted at every opportunity.

The Isle of Wight Economic Partnership is working with the Isle of Wight Council and other organisations to co-ordinate the project and make sure The Bay gets the best for its future.
