Watersports

With all the water around us, it’s no surprise that the Island is a sailing mecca. Cowes is home to some of the world’s finest boatbuilders and is a base for the UK’s finest sailors including Dame Ellen MacArthur and Shirley Robertson OBE.

Centres such as X-Isle Sports, Wight Waters and UKSA give everybody the opportunity to try out sailing as well as other watersports. With courses for adults and children, everyone has the chance to learn new skills and make friends through new activities.

There are a host of marinas, harbours and anchorages around the Isle of Wight which attract visiting yachts for their tranquil surroundings, warm temperatures and access to great restaurants and cafes.
