Folk and Blues 21st - 23rd September

The Isle of Wight Folk & Blues Festival is a relaxed, rambling weekend mix of two musical genres that travels the timeline of both, from roots to contemporary.

From the American acoustic blues of Guy Davis to the nu-folk of Jim Moray, the Hendrix set of the Hamsters via the Dylanesque influences in some of the more original folk sounds, this festival has potential to hit cult status and repeat history but is yet in its first year and just starting to capture the imagination of the mood of the nation.

This is a multi-site and non-corporate festival in an eclectic town, set around the clifftops, seafront and churches of Ventnor.

The Folk & Blues Village is in marquees on Salisbury Gardens, Ventnor.

The higher level marquees just off Dudley Road are FREE for anyone to enter and contain the open-mic stage, bar, diner and Craft Crazy & kiddies corner.

The lower main arena is for entry by appropriate ticket holders only. This area has the main stage, a bar run by Rosemary Vineyard, food by Just Falafs and Marvilouse Oriental all in Moroccan tents.

If you haven’t already bought tickets to this family friendly festival you can buy on-line or by calling 01983 856206.
