Isle of Wight Relocation case study
Ian Williams, Gully Howard Group
Ian moved to the Isle of Wight in 2001 for a better lifestyle balance for himself and his family. He runs a Home Condition and Energy Efficiency company as part of the Gully Howard Group.
Life was hectic on the mainland and the constant chase to earn the pennies resulted in Ian commuting between Portsmouth, Newbury, Oxford and London. To escape the rush in 2001 Ian and his wife, purchased a property on the Isle of Wight with quality of life in mind. He commuted to the mainland, returning to the Island every weekend to look after the horses he had bought along the way.
However, this commute started to take its toll, and after 5 years Ian decided that enough was enough and looked for employment closer to home on the Island.
With the help and backing of a well established Chartered Surveyor & Commercial Property Agent on the Island, Gully Howard, Ian set up a company ahead of the new regulations to produce Home Condition Reports and Energy Performance Certificates.
