Gipsy Moth IV and the Isle of Wight

The future of the Island’s economy is reliant on a skilled, motivated and “up for it” workforce. Many of the projects we work on are aimed at making sure the Island has just this. 

As the premier sponsor of the project we have worked closely with the Gipsy Moth team at UKSA to give 120 young people from the Island, the chance to train at the sailing academy to learn new skills and open their eyes to new challenges.  15 young people from the Island were selected to take part in a leg of the Gipsy Moth IV expedition around the globe.

Along the way, the crews got the chance to visit amazing places including: Barbados, Panama, Galapagos, Tahiti, Tonga, Auckland, Sydney, Darwin, Bali, Singapore, Phuket, Sri Lanka, Crete, Malta, Sardinia and Palma.
